NYC Noir is a completed photographic series created in New York City in May 2024.
Inspired by the atmosphere of classic film noir, the project explores the city beyond its iconic landmarks – capturing fleeting moments of solitude, light and shadow that often go unnoticed amidst its constant movement.
Rather than documenting New York as a destination, NYC Noir is an observation of its quieter side. Empty subway cars, reflections in the rain, late-night streets and the spaces between people become fragments of a larger story – one that belongs as much to the city as it does to those who pass through it.
Through cinematic compositions and an intimate visual language, NYC Noir invites the viewer to slow down and discover a different rhythm of New York.
Sometimes, a city speaks loudest in its quietest moments.
